Photography 101 (I forget what day we’re on): Swarm

Today’s assignment is: Swarm.  We’re supposed to take a photo of a swarm of something.

Well . . . the only thing that’s swarming in Virginia right now is the cold.  Stealing a line from a friend’s Facebook status yesterday — it’s Novembrrrr here in Virginia!

I took this photo of a swarm (you like how I made that fit the theme?) of ice crystals on my car this morning.  I shot it with my 105mm macro lens, so could get even closer on a crop, but I kind of like the overall, abstract effect.  I fooled with the white balance post-processing to slide the photo into a colder, blue hue.

See you tomorrow!
