Since I write a wine blog (though you almost wouldn’t know it lately with all these photo challenges), I thought I’d do something novel and post a wine-related photo for my last Black & White Photo Challenge.
This is my artsy-fartsy shot of the barn silo at RdV Vineyards in Delaplane, Virginia. If you’re thinking, “hey, I’ve seen that photo before,” you’re right. There’s another version of this photo on the full review post I wrote about RdV, but I decided to mess around with it some more in LightRoom, and came up with something a little more dramatic. I love LightRoom.
If you live anywhere within striking distance of northern Virginia, a visit to RdV Vineyards won’t disappoint (just remember, you need reservations, and it’s $50 per person). RdV is making some blow-your-socks-off red wine blends. Seriously. My socks were blown off . . . and into the next room! I can’t wait to see what they do with this year’s vintage.
I was supposed to be nominating folks to participate in this Black & White Photo Challenge, but I’ve totally dropped that ball. So instead of inviting individual bloggers, I would encourage anyone who enjoys taking pictures to do just that — start snapping! Take some photos, convert them to black and white . . . and watch the magic happen. And then post the photos so we can all enjoy them, too!
