My lilac bush is budding! It’s beginning to look a lot like
Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: Oops.
Our instructions: This week, share a photographic “Oops!” moment with us. The fiasco could be what’s in the picture: anything broken, jumbled, or otherwise cringe-worthy. Or it could be something in the photo-taking itself.
Mother Nature is having a spectacular Oops moment here in Virginia.
Remember when I told you winter is coming? Well, I lied. We’ve had an unusually warm December. And last week, we had a five-day stretch with temperatures at or above 65 degrees. Which is great, if your zip code is 90210. Don’t get me wrong — I’m all about an occasional 65 degree December day, but almost a week of them is well, cringeworthy. Things around here (like my lilac bush) are budding, for crying out loud.
Booooo, Mother Nature. Boo. When it freezes again (and it will) these buds will likely be lost. And I will not be a happy camper come May when my lilacs are bloom-less. I just hope none of our Virginia grapevines are trying to wake-up before their April alarm clock. Stay sleeping, guys. Stay sleeping.
Forecast for Christmas Day: 65 degrees and sunny.
C’mon Mother Nature . . . get your Scheiße together.
