A Very Brady Blog Post . . . It’s Time to Change!

When it’s time to change, you’ve got to rearrange . . .

Readers of a certain age (my age) will instantly remember this episode of The Brady Bunch.
I don’t need to give you the plot summary.  But I probably should explain why I’ve got Peter Brady on my mind.  (I should also tell Cindy those are some pretty groovy boots!)  Go ahead, push the play button.  You know you want to.

The point to my Very Brady Blog Post?  There are some changes brewing at The Armchair Sommelier.  Starting with my fancy new blog address:

www.armchairsommelier.com

Change-of-Address-4This was a long overdue move, but I finally got my rear in gear and made it happen.  I upgraded my blog site from a WordPress hosted site to my very own domain.  Well, technically, I had someone who actually knows what they’re doing migrate my site (hey, I know when I’m in over my head), but it’s (mostly) done.

What does this mean for you?  Hopefully, nothing.  There are still some kinks I need to iron, but (knock on wood, throw salt over my shoulder, and anything else that might help), the move should be invisible to you.  If you subscribe via email, you should still get those emails.  If you subscribe via the WordPress reader, you should still see my posts there.

If you don’t see my posts in your reader, please let me know — so I can exhale a string of obscenities and try to figure out how to fix that!

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be making a few more changes to my site, not least of which is a woefully overdue update to my About Me page.  I’m still working on that one.  I will also be experimenting with including my photography portfolio.

I’ll leave you with the lyrical genius of Greg Brady.  Take it away, Brady Six . . .

When it’s time to change, you’ve got to rearrange
who you are into what you’re gonna be.
Sha na na na, na na na na na, sha na na na na
Sha na na na, na na na na na, sha na na na na

They don’t write deep and meaningful lyrics like that anymore.

Happy New Year & Salud!!

  1. Good luck- I’m sure it will be great! Since I just write my blog for a winery, and I’m kind of ahem- secondary- ahem, when they shifted things over, it didn’t go quite as I imagined. I don’t show up in WordPress that I know of and the only way people know that I’ve posted something is if they subscribe and get an email. I pick up new people following me every once and awhile, but it’s always just the old WordPress which I no longer use. Anyway, since you are the- dare I say it?- (oh what the heck) master of your domain, I’m sure it will all come out alright. 🙂

    1. Mastering a domain has a steep learning curve, for sure. And the WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org Reader issue seems to be a hot button for a lot of folks. I wish they (the global WordPress) would wave their magic wand and make it a universal feature. Cheers, Danielle!!
