Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is:  Ambience.
Our instructions:  Ambience has the power to uplift your mood.  What have you photographed with exceptional ambience?

For this week’s challenge, I decided to have a little fun with my macro lens and a candle.
I was surprised by the distinction and clarity of the flame’s colors under the macro lens.

There’s all kinds of chemistry and physics behind these colors, but I’ll let the chemists and physicists explain that (something about hydrocarbons and combustion).

For me, the flame is just calm, quiet and happy.
