Method
For the wine cocktail:
- Combine simple syrup, lemon, and bourbon in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake for 30 seconds.
- Strain over ice and gently pour wine over the back of a spoon for a floater.
- Optional: sometimes, we like to add an orange peel to the shaker tin depending on our mood. It brings more of an old fashioned flavor to the cocktail.
For the simple syrup:
- Bring 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water to a low boil. Reduce to low for 8 minutes.
