Water-Wise Workshop: Soils, Mulches, and More

Join the first fall session of the 2025 Water-Wise Landscaping Workshop Series, presented by City of Napa Water in partnership with the Napa County Resource Conservation District (RCD) and UC Master Gardeners. You’ll learn the eight principles of water-wise landscaping, explore local soil types, and discover how healthy soil supports a sustainable landscape. Miguel García from Napa County RCD will demonstrate techniques such as aeration, soil amendments, and mulching, with a special focus on the “sheet mulching” method for lawn removal.

You’ll also visit breakout stations hosted by Master Gardeners for deeper learning and have the chance to win valuable door prizes. This free workshop is a great opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge for creating a beautiful, water-efficient garden.
