Armchair Sommelier’s Travel Guide To Tuscany
Want to be more than a tourist, escape the overcrowded tourist attractions, eat delicious food, sip the nectar of the gods and really immerse yourself in Italian culture?
I’ve visited Italy, and specifically, Tuscany, more times than I can count. Tuscany was where I got to see history come alive as I wandered medieval cities, hillside towns, and the beautiful countryside. It was where I indulged in the incredible Chianti Classico wine and the famous Montepulciano. But Tuscany is so much more than that. And, it is a big region.
I know planning a trip around an entire region like Tuscany can be a lot of work.
That’s why I created this guide.
This guidebook and interactive Google map gives you an overview of how to travel from one town to the next, where to stay and what to see in one easy-to-reference place so you can make the most out of your trip. Other books and guides out there don’t include a downloadable map even though they try to be everything to everyone, in the end, end up telling you nothing.
My advice comes from years of on-the-ground experience. I’ve been to Tuscany multiple times every year for the past 11 years. I’ve booked trips for friends and family and led tours for a former company before I wrote this guide.
We are living in a new age of travel and anything written prior to 2020 is outdated.
This guidebook is made from the heart – from one traveler to another – and is filled with the specific, practical information I wished I had when I planned my first and second trip to Tuscany.

Meet Your Tuscany Trip Planner
Hi! My name is Anne Morin and I’m the founder of ArmchairSommelier.com. I’ve planned hundreds of trips over the last 15 years for corporations, clients, friends and family. Couples, bachelorette parties, stag parties, girls trips, and team building trips. I’ve traveled all over the world in search of good food and great wine. Here I am below in Chiang Mai. When people ask me how and why I choose my destinations I say… I follow the food. I wanted to learn how to make the best pasta so I booked a trip to Tuscany. When I wanted the best báhn mì sandwich in the world, I went to Vietnam. Pad Thai? Well, Thailand obviously. I love the idea of experiencing culture through food.
Tuscany Travel Guide Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this guide different from Other travel guides?
Other travel guides try to be everything to everyone but really end up telling you nothing. And if the guide was written prior to 2020, it’s completely outdated. The world of travel has changed. Plus, I’ve included a downloadable Google map for you to use while you travel. Gone are the days of packing a bulky travel guide that screams “I’M A TOURIST”.
What makes you an expert on Tuscany?
Fair question. I’ve been to Italy more times than I can count which is why there’s so much information in this guide. I started traveling with my chef friend who is a Tuscan native in 2013 and have returned multiple times over the last 11 years. All of the recommendations in this guide are my personal favorite places to see, eat, and drink. I know Tuscany well.
Is this guide available in print?
It is only available as an ebook and Google map. You’ll be able to save this guide to your phone, Kindle, iPad, or computer so can easily access it on your travels!
What’s the difference between this guide and the information on this site?
While we have a lot of great information on Italy, it doesn’t offer nearly all accommodations, restaurants or wine tour recommendations in Tuscany; best time to visit, how to get there, detailed transportation, how to stay safe and even essential Italian words and phrases. And that’s all the stuff you turn to a guidebook for!
