I’m in a Champagne state of mind. We’re going to be in Champagne this summer (very briefly — we’ll probably have just enough time for one glass of Bubbles at a random café). Still, I’ve been trying to do some research, tasting, and general thinking about Champagne. I figure if I only have time for one glass, I’d better choose wisely. And hey, thinking about Champagne totally beats thinking about laundry . . .
I came across these words while doing some research earlier this week. They’re from a book called The Lover’s Dictionary, by David Leviathan. It tells the story of a relationship, using over 200 dictionary entries as format.
I can’t say I have plans to read the rest of the book, but I sure liked the entry for Champagne, and the idea of associating Champagne with accumulating joy:
And on that note, I think it’s time to pop open some joy!
Salud!
