You will need to make reservations (sometimes weeks in advance) to all of these listed below but your planning efforts will not be in vain.

Davis Estates is a wonderful blend of history and modern luxury, nestled in the beautiful hills of Calistoga. This boutique winery stands out with its meticulously restored barns and state-of-the-art facilities, making every visit feel special. One of the highlights is their fantastic food and wine pairing tastings where you’ll enjoy a variety of wines perfectly matched with delicious bites, enhancing the overall experience.

The views from the winery are absolutely breathtaking, adding to the charm. Their standout wine is the Cabernet Sauvignon, celebrated for its bold and complex flavors. It’s a must-visit for any wine lover! Our favorite was the Zephyr at $125 per bottle. Tastings begin at $125 and are so worth it.

Their Merlot has earned critical acclaim and is a must-try. They still have some of their 2013 Merlot left for purchase at an exceptional price point of $72. IYKYK that 2013 was a banner year in Napa. A perfect vintage, Wine Spectator calls it “Practically a flawless growing season”.

Something else that makes this place really special is that Sheldon Richards, the owner and winemaker, personally visits nearly every tasting. The only time he doesn’t is if he is away. He is so incredibly passionate about sharing their premium wine at a very affordable price. Cheers to that!
