A wine barrel outside of Goose Watch Winery in the Finger Lakes, New York.
Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: Circle.
Our instructions: This week, let a familiar shape inspire you.
I took this photo on our trip to the Finger Lakes this past summer. I was drawn to the contrast between the red edge of the barrel and the pink phlox in the background, and how the barrel has weathered over time. There are some lovely circles here . . . metal and painted. The metal bands on a wine barrel are called hoops. There are between six and eight hoops on each wine barrel. The edge, or the brim of the barrel where all of the stave ends come together (the red painted circle) is called the chime.
Lovely pic ! I love the background. Wanna this sun xd ! ! !
