Love Birds . . .
Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: One Love.
Our instructions: This week, show us what One Love means to you.
What does One Love mean to me? Well, if I’m being honest . . . it means I’m going to have a Bob Marley ear worm for the next few hours.
But as far as this picture goes . . . this is a cardinal couple that hangs out at my backyard bird feeder. As I watched them one morning, they surprised me by feeding each other. I thought it was just cute, but as it turns out, this is a thing. The male cardinal feeds the female as part of their mating ritual — it’s called courtship feeding.
And it’s really cute.
I love Cardinals. I wish we had them on the West Coast.

You don’t have cardinals on the west coast? I don’t think that ever occurred to me . . .

Nope. None that I have ever seen. It’s a shame, because they are so pretty!

I didn’t know they did that. What an amazing capture! Of all the cardinal shots I’ve seen, I’ve never seen this. So cool!
