Daybreak at The Old Courthouse in Warrenton, Virginia.
Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: Local.
Our instructions: This week, share what “local” means to you, and show us where your heart is.
I live in a small-ish town in the Piedmont of Virginia called Warrenton. I took this photo just this morning, at sunrise, on my way to volunteer at The Great Pumpkin Ride, a local bicycle event that raises money for trails development in our county.
This is the Old Courthouse (seriously, that’s its name), built in 1890, after two previous courthouses (in the same location) were destroyed by fires in 1853 and 1889. The building to the left is the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. I left it in the photo because I liked the perspective, and I was mesmerized by the glow of the light coming from the center door and window.
Salud!
I like the place.
