Our theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week is: Earth.
Our instructions: This week, share an image that means “earth” to you.
I’m a Cornhusker 🌽 by birth . . . Go Big Red!! One of life’s “little things” that make me happy is corn. I love fresh sweet corn (and I have mad cornhusking skills). There’s just something about driving by, or (even better), walking through, a field of corn — you can almost hear it growing. It’s all at once comforting and nostalgic.
Fellow Cornhuskers will know instantly this isn’t Nebraska corn. This is Virginia corn — because the soil is red clay and not Nebraska’s state soil — dark, rich Holdrege Soil. Btw, every state in the US has a state soil. Seriously.
Here’s to earth . . . soil . . . and corn!
Salud!
